Chalk board/cork boad

Today was a long work day but I got home and had 2 hours to kill before I picked up my darling daughter. I decided what better way than to craft. I cut the plywood I bought.  Started painting and I remembered I have some old cabinet doors and how perfect would they be for a chalkboard cork board
No doubt best idea yet they are adorable.
Taking my DD to dance and I will have another 2 hours to kill.   Since im done painting im hoping I can deal with the corks In 2 hours.
I finished gluing down the corks and I used an upside down drawer handle to hold the chalk.  I love it.

Honest opinions please!

Progress

Ok I played last night with the washers and I had a great time.  Here are the pictures of the results.
As for the wreath, more bad news, I had to grab a few groceries this morning so I ran to walmart.  Found the perfect pieces to finish it off.  I get home and show sassy the mask.  Well needless to say she played with it.  Did not put it back where it belongs and it got broken.  Neither child would fess up so they both paid me 7 dollars.  5 for the mask and 2 for gas.  Annoying!! Now tomorrow I have to and try to find another one.  It was the only one I saw like that.  Ugggh.

Hopefully my corks come in the mail tomorrow.  Ordered 500 for $10 on ebay!

Pinterest challenge First issue.

I decided to go big or go home with this wreath.  I bought a large work wreath at hobby lobby. (It was 4.99 but i used a 40% off coupon.)

Dang back fire.  I dont have enough mesh ribbion to complete the wreath.  Here are my options...take it apart.  Yuck.  Or go get some more mesh ribbion which will mean 15 dollars and another project.  Ahhhh! What to do????

Pintress challenge

I have been cooped up in the house for a week.  Forced to work out of the house on my computer.  I have spent hours staring out of the window waiting for Noah in his arc to come and rescue me from this rain and the rising flood waters.
Besides waiting for my absent savior I also spent lots of time on pintrest, making a ganna list.  Oh! Im GANNA make this...Oh!  Im ganna make that.  Repinning and liking and all this stuff, which I have no idea what that does or means.
Sunday, I was terrified of this week's pending schedule that was filled with work, work, work and taxi-ing my children from school to lessons to tutoring ect.  Plus my regular job of keeping up with the house and cooking.  I basically did not sleep.  I needed something for myself to make me happy.  I woke up Monday morning and got the kids off to school and went in to work and my boss had great news.  He wants me to take half days this week.
So OFF at noon I was OFF for some much needed retail therapy.   I started at Hobby Lobby, next Lowes.  I couldn't believe I was buying more craft paraphnaila.  I knew I had to make these items I have been dreaming about.
After shopping I was sitting in the parking lot of the dance studio waiting for my darling daughter when I started thinking negatively.  I thought I spent more money and I will never do these craft projects and even if I do who will see them.   Duh I will put myself on blast on facebook tell everyone here is what I said I am GANNA do.  Make my self accountable if you will.  I decided to take it a step further and go ahead and create a blog.  Im a single mom that works 50 plus hours a week.  If I can do anyone can.  Here goes nothing.

I am challenging myself with the next few weeks to accomplish the following tasks in addition to my job and regular chores and errands:

1.  Washer Necklaces
2.  Twig F.D.L.
3.  Mardi Gras wreath
4.  Memory/chalk board
5.  Magnetic board
6.  Measuring cup holder thingys.
7.  mardi gras bead bowls

The pictures below are of the flood waters and the pintrest post that I am going to attempt.
